Blue Crush

Inspired by the female powerhouses in the film Blue Crush and childhood nostalgia, this story fuses details that nod back to the early 2000’s with the signature minimal Hakea aesthetic for a modern update.

As with all art, the film imitated life at the time. Trading up skimpy bikinis for boardshorts, claiming equal competition money and space in the ocean - this time saw a wave of female empowerment in the surf industry that paved the path for women in the water today.
