Here and there the desert sand has drifted on to the road and the scrub is dotted with the prickly, pleasingly alien Joshua trees. The desert and its expansiveness has a romantic allure. Like a breath of fresh air on the first spring day. Ancient boulder formations forever changing. Minimal yet mighty, draw you in to clamber over their curves. The sky, a particularly perfect shade of blue. We watch as the sun melts into the horizon. There aren’t words for this sort of beauty and serenity. It is like falling in love. Maybe it is falling in love.
